We've assembled some before-and-after pictures that show the transformation taking place on I-10 between Executive Center Boulevard (Exit 16) and North Mesa Street (Exit 11). We hope you enjoy these images. Thank you for your patience and support. Note: If the images below do not display correctly, please refresh the page.
WESTBOUND PAISANO DRIVE (US 85) OVERPASS (NEAR SUNLAND PARK)
In four months’ time, the Paisano Drive Overpass was demolished and two new overpasses were built in its place. The two bridges align parallel with each other - one ties into the new CD lanes and the other exits to Sunland Park Drive.
I‐10 EASTBOUND CD LANES (BETWEEN SUNLAND PARK & EXECUTIVE CENTER)
These two pictures show the stark difference in the landscape alongside I‐10 East. In seven months, crews managed to move earth to create level ground for the new eastbound CD lanes.
BUENA VISTA BRIDGE (BRIDGE TO NOWHERE)
Now you see it. Now you don’t. In one day, crews demolished the enigmatic Bridge to Nowhere near the Buena Vista Community. In the Sept. 2nd image, arrows point to the abutments where the bridge once stood.
WESTBOUND CD LANES (NEAR BUENA VISTA)
In the Dec. 7, 2015 image, you can see the concrete barrier protecting drivers from the one‐foot drop behind it. In the Oct. 18, 2016 image, crews are pouring new concrete pavement behind the barrier, creating new westbound CD lanes.
